Are you Mad Libbing your Presentation? Don’t. Be Original (TRSP 26)
I loved playing Mad Libs as a kid. All you needed to do was fill in the blanks with different parts of speech to create a hysterical story. While this was great fun for me and my mom many moons ago, if you want to book more speaking gigs, you should never use a formula to create your presentation.
Today, we explore:
- Why Mad Libbing your presentation hurts you as a speaker
- How originality and positivity in your presentation help your audience feel good, solve a problem and serve a purpose, and why speaking formulas are bad for your audience
- The importance of adapting your presentation to your specific audience, while maintaining the message of your Signature Talk
- Why it’s your job as a speaker to become an expert at presentations
