Hi Michelle, 3 great tips – thanks – Content is everything eh? Really interesting!
Thank you Peter! Yes content is everything. The more we can educate and help through content – the better!
Hi Michelle…great video, thanks for the info. I’m planning to implement video this year on my blog as well.
One thing I’d recommend. On YouTube you can select to not display other related videos once your video has finished playing. I’d suggest this because once someone views all of your video they are now presented with 16 options to leave your site.
Rodney that is a great suggestion! I didn’t realize that you can do that. I agree that you don’t want drive people away from your site. I’m going to start doing turning off the other related videos as well.
I think most people don’t. Even with the really big bloggers I see this all the time. Looks like we both have a new tip to offer our readers 🙂
Hi,
I just posted my very first vlog.
That tip about being conversational is great advice, I got the same advice from my stand-up comedy coach but I never carried it over. The eye-contact tip I might have used too. I think next time I will have to find a way to get my camera behind my mic.
If you wouldn’t mind giving me some feedback my vlog is here:

Hi Berkley! You are hysterical! I loved the voices you did. I love the sidebar commentary in text (Not porn so stop asking). I loved the voice for not knowing how to end your vlog. First, have a clear message. What do you want to accomplish with the vlog? Do you want to do irreverent observations of life? Observations of being a voice over actor? You can do anything you want and make it hysterical. I’d suggest mapping out exactly what you want to talk about – it doesn’t have to be scripted, but know where you are going before you hit record. It will cut down on those awkward pauses. Be sure you know how to end it – what’s the one idea you want to leave your audience with? End with that and sign-off! Can’t wait to see where you will take your vlog! If you keep at it, I have a feeling it could really take-off for you!
